Not a lot of knitting going on in these parts as of late. I ripped a couple of socks. One sock was to big in the ankle and I was hating the yarn I was using for the other sock.
I had to rip the sock above as I really did not like working with the yarn, Regia Cotton Surf. I am not sure if It was the cotton I did not like or what. I started the sock several times and just did not care for this yarn. The yarn is soft but it splits and has little give. I was surprised at how springy the knit fabric was given the fact that the yarn had such little give to it. The colors were amazing though. I know Larry expressed some of the same concerns. He finished his socks but I am not sure if I will touch this yarn again. I know I will not buy any more though.
I have been very busy as of late. I just returned from a trip to Florida. The whole family gathered to bury my Fathers ashes at sea. It was a beautiful ceremony and I hope it will bring us all closure. Needless to say the place was a mad house with people everwhere. Just picture a two day party / family reunion with lots of friends added to the mix. Just the thing my late father would have loved! I did manage to sneak into the local LYS before I arrived to pick up some sock yarn and some more Addi Turbos.
Now that the funeral is over I can focus all of my neurotic energy on my impending move to Virginia!
I am happy to report that I have slept for the past two nights, no small feat for me. I am a light sleeper and with all the big happenings in my life sleep was alluding me.....
Ah, Virginia. I am not really scared about the move. I will have plenty to keep me busy for a while. Much painting, furniture arranging, picture hanging, and just plain settling. I suspect I will be supervising the demolition and construction of a new kitchen, very soon! A new kitchen will be nice. I know not what to expect. I am confident that it will take longer than expected to complete. Tee hee. M has picked out everything and it all looks good to me.
So, my summer will be full of big changes and surprises. I will keep you all informed. All for now....

the ceremony sounds like it was just what your father would have loved. I always enjoy a man whose first words when he came to visit were: "Let's have a cocktail!" I am sure he was somewhere nearby with his feet in the water....love you, M.
