I had a wonderful holiday. Lots of food, family, fun, personal reflection, and a little knitting too. The last time I saw my father was last Thanksgiving and I have been thinking about him a lot lately.
He was such a nice man and so much fun to be around. He was always the life of the party and I certainly missed him yesterday. He could talk to anyone and was the most open minded person I have ever known. Oh my goodness, his laugh was contagious!
I was standing in my dining room this morning just looking at the walls, the china, the table, and realized the last meal I ate in the dining room was with him. Oh well, life does go on.
Not a day goes by I don't thank my lucky stars for the amazing life I have. Never in a million years did I think I would find someone so wonderful with which to share my life. I have loving friends, my animals, a great career, it just goes on and on...... and seems to only get better the older I get. If I left this world tomorrow I would die the happiest man on earth.
Now for the knitting content. I started several projects this week. Thanks to the good boys at ThreadBear I had some goodies to play with this week.
I started a Philosopher's Wool sweater, the tradition pattern. I am not using purple in this sweater though. This sweater is for M and he is not partial to purple.

Theese sweaters are fun to knit. It is not the softest wool but I like the texture, and the colors. The PW technique is fun too. I find these sweaters very soothing to knit and I kind of get into a rhythm and just ........knit on....
I started a felted bag as well. More on that this weekend. All for now...

OH MY WORD, Max, those sweater sleeves are just amazing.........very very nice work!
You mention the wool not being the softest--it does bloom with washing and wearing, and it will become much more supple.
Enjoy the goodness of soft fingertips!

Woohoo! Another Georgia knitter. I'm in Gainesville. I'm also working on a PW sweater, although mine is Kilim. Do you work in a school library or public? I teach high school ESOL. :)
